July & August 2019

Thank you to everyone who took part in a fundraising event over July and August. Here are just a few of the fantastic things that took place.

Emma Taylor and a fab team took part in a Colour Obstacle Rush in memory of Colin Johnson. Emma commented "Unfortunately we lost our family member Colin to SUDEP back in November 2018. We wanted to do something fun in his memory, as well as donating to a great cause who bring about awareness of SUDEP and provide support for those who have lost a loved one through SUDEP. We completed the Colour Obstacle Rush, a fun and messy afternoon! We know that the money we raised is going to an amazing cause and we're thinking of making it an annual event!"

A football event was held in memory of Richie Cain. Andy Blythin, one of the event organisers, informed us “In October 2018 we lost our friend Richie Cain to SUDEP. Richie was a keen sportsman and we wanted to celebrate his life and raise awareness of SUDEP by doing something Richie loved- so we organised a charity football match. Richie was a massive Liverpool FC fan and played for his local amateur team, Waterloo GSOB, throughout his teenager and adult life. The day was a great success. We are planning further events in 2020 to continue fundraising and raising awareness of SUDEP.”

Rebecca Moody and friends walked to raise funds in memory of Joanna Foord. Rebecca commented “Over the weekend of 15th August, my friends and I set out to complete the second leg of our Cleveland Way Walk, in memory of my sister Jo. We enjoyed wonderful views across the sunny, if a little windy, North York Moors, and raised over £400 for SUDEP Action. Thanks to all who sponsored, looking forward to next year.”
