Epilepsy Bereaved speaks up for epilepsy during NHS reforms

Epilepsy Bereaved was represented at a national commissioning conference held in London during July. 

An expert panel made up of national commissioning leads and the Chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners answered a question on epilepsy commissioning from Jane Hanna, Director of Epilepsy Bereaved and the charity flier on epilepsy commissioning was praised by a panel member.

Jane Hanna was subsequently invited to write an editorial on epilepsy for the Public Service Review, a leading journal reaching 5,000 policy makers and health managers.

Service models aimed at preventing crisis and deploying relatively inexpensive resources in the community should save the high costs of fire-fighting in the acute sector and save lives”

 

Epilepsy Bereaved is collaborating with the Epilepsy Society on improving local commissioning of services and is currently participating on a epilepsy commissioning working group and also working with other neurological charities.
