Epilepsy Bereaved offers a bereavement support line which has a great deal of experience as a result of our many contacts with bereaved members and their families and friends.
The support line team can on occasions where it is appropriate, proactively make contact with people impacted by an epilepsy related death, to offer support and information which could help them through their very distressing time
If you read or hear of an epilepsy related death in your community or local town please let us know. We may be able to sensitively offer some help to families going through this very difficult time.
There is currently no national monitoring of epilepsy related deaths. In the absence of this, it is important that Epilepsy Bereaved monitor reported deaths so an accurate assessment of the incidence of epilepsy related deaths is maintained.
