In Memory of Kim

Kim

In October 2006, Tina and Martin’s youngest daughter Kim died having had just one night seizure six months previously.

23 year old Kim was a staff nurse in theatre recovery at her local hospital.  Neither Kim nor her family had ever heard of SUDEP.  Her consultant and GP did not mention it during consultations, so the shock of her death, when she was otherwise fit and healthy was unbearable and bewildering.

Like many, the family are determined to try and raise awareness, funds, and lobby for Government funding for research in the hope that their actions might prevent another family going through such devastation.

Kim’s sister Nicola and her husband Mark have raised substantial amounts of money whilst also raising awareness in memory of Kim.

“None of this can ever bring Kim back, but as a nurse, her vocation was to save lives and we hope in some way to do the same and carry on her mission. It would be testament to a much-loved daughter and sister, who is missed so very much.”
