Christopher Martin died on the 16 December 2007 aged 22.
Christopher was articulate and fun loving young man and training to be hairdresser at college near High Wycombe. Christopher was to qualify as a hairdresser in the summer of 2007 but died in the January before.
Christopher had had epilepsy for ten years and regularly saw a specialist clinician about this epilepsy but unfortunately his seizures never became totally controlled. In recent years his seizures had only occurred at night whilst he was asleep. Therefore he was able to drive a car and live a full life when he suddenly died.
Christopher’s father Clive said:
‘Sandra and I worried about Christopher when he was out in the evening but we were not warned that epilepsy could be fatal. Discovering Christopher had died and the realisation that we would never see him again was the hardest’.
Clive and Sandra are committed to assisting Epilepsy Bereaved secure Government funding for research.
